Q&A: Wild Things

Based in Seattle, WA, Wild Things makes chocolate-covered almonds that are both healthy and indulgent! They call them “Skinny Dipped,” which means they’re dipped in a thin layer of artisan dark chocolate and finished with a whisper of pure cocoa, espresso or raspberry. And for some, they’re wildly addictive!

We caught up with Wild Things to get the skinny on their almond snacks.

How did you guys get started?

Wild Things was founded by a mom-and-daughter team in Seattle. We took the traditional “candy” chocolate-covered almond and transformed it into a healthy snack. We “Skinny Dip” our almonds in a thin layer of ethically sourced dark chocolate and finish with pure raspberry, espresso or cocoa.

Besides your almonds, what’s unique about Wild Things?

We’re woman-owned, local to Seattle, and family and friend operated!

What makes you environmentally responsible?

The farm and facility that grows and processes our almonds practices sustainability. So they consciously strive to reduce their water footprint by recycling and returning water back to the orchard. They also limit the use of pesticides and chemicals by practicing integrated pest management, which cuts pesticide use in half.

Plus, our chocolate is manufactured by a company committed to ethically sourcing cocoa beans that are Rainforest Alliance Certified.

Any last thoughts?

Our green dream is to move to 100% recyclable packaging, and eventually to fully compostable packaging.
