Add fresh-from-the-garden flavor to these burger patties by mixing up a delicious basil pesto spread for the buns!


  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. prepared basil pesto
  • 1 Tbsp. onion, finely chopped
  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 3 Tbsp. fresh basil, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • Olive oil, as needed


  1. Mix mayonnaise and pesto in a bowl.
  2. Heat grill. Mix ground beef, basil and onion in a bowl. Form ground beef into 4 patties a little larger than the size of the buns. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  3. Grill burgers to an internal temperature of 160° F.
  4. Separate buns and brush with olive oil. Grill until lightly browned. Spread pesto mixture on inside of buns and stack burgers on buns. Add tomato slices and serve.
