This delicate fish is amazing cooked on the grill. Fresh ginger, garlic and scallions make this recipe a winner. Try it with cod, too!


  • 2 tilapia fillets
  • ¼ tsp. lemon pepper
  • 2 scallions, cut into strips
  • Fresh ginger, 2" piece, cut into strips
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 Tbsp. light soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp. water


  1. Place fillets in the middle of a sheet of aluminum foil large enough to wrap around the tilapia.
  2. Sprinkle fillet with lemon pepper.
  3. Spread scallions, ginger and garlic evenly on top of fish.
  4. Pour soy sauce and water over fillet.
  5. Carefully seal up foil on all sides, leaving some room inside the packet for heat to circulate.
  6. Grill for 7-10 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165° F.
