An unlikely duo makes for an irresistible sweet and savory breakfast or afternoon treat!


  • 6 slices whole wheat bread, toasted
  • 2 avocados
  • 15 fresh strawberries, cut into thin slices (approximately ½” wide)
  • 1 cup balsamic vinegar
  • ¼ cup honey


  1. In a small saucepan, stir together balsamic vinegar and honey and place over high heat. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low and simmer until the vinegar mixture has reduced to ⅓ cup, about 10 minutes. Set the balsamic reduction aside to cool.
  2. Slice your avocado in half, remove pit and then cut into cubes. Scoop it out and use the back of a fork to smash it on toast.
  3. Add sliced strawberries and drizzle with balsamic reduction.


If you're looking for a smidge of indulgence, add crushed dark chocolate and sprinkle with sea salt.
