Teriyaki Chicken Burgers with Grilled Pineapple

There is no need for a boring burger – try this teriyaki version with ground chicken topped with grilled pineapple and creamy ginger slaw.


  • 2 Tbsp. mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp. teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tsp. seasoned rice wine vinegar
  • 1 tsp. ginger, finely chopped
  • 1 cup tri-colored slaw
  • 1 ½ lb. ground chicken
  • ¼ cup green onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp. teriyaki sauce
  • 2 Tbsp. cilantro, chopped
  • 1 tsp. Kosher salt
  • ½ tsp. ground black pepper
  • 4 slices(about 1/4" thick) pineapple
  • 4 hamburger buns, toasted


  1. In a bowl, mix together mayonnaise, teriyaki sauce, vinegar and ginger. Toss with slaw; set aside.
  2. Heat grill: Heat gas grill to medium-high heat or charcoal until ashes are white.
  3. Mix together chicken, green onion, teriyaki sauce, cilantro, salt and pepper; form into four patties.
  4. Grill burgers 6-8 minutes, flip and continue cooking 5-7 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°F. Remove from grill and allow to rest.
  5. Meanwhile grill pineapple 8-10 minutes until nicely marked.
  6. To assemble burger place about ¼ cup slaw on top of bottom bun; top with burger patty, pineapple slice and top bun.
  7. Refrigerate leftovers.
